The former MEP confessed to accepting bribes. In return, he supported Russia


Nathan Gill is a former MP of the UK reform party (formerly the Brexit party), which was the MEP in 2014-2020. The politician confessed to taking bribes in exchange for making statements beneficial to Russia – informs the BBC. Bribery took place in the period on December 6, 2018 – July 18, 2019.
Gill received a bribe from Oleg Wołoszyn, who was determined by the American services with the “pawn” of Russian special services. In return, the British MEP not only gave speeches and statements in the European Parliament, but also organized meetings with the participation of a pro -Russian politician.
Journalists also found that there is evidence in the form of messages on the Whastapp message that Gill and Wołoszyn exchanged with them.
Gill in defense of two television stations related to Russia
The BBC gives examples of the activities of Nathan Gill, who in December 2018 in his speech in the EP stood up for TV channels 112 Ukraine and Newsone. He argued then that they were incorrectly treated by the Ukrainian authorities. Gill of the same month and in March 2019. Also in his subsequent statements he accused Ukrainians of “exerting unjustified pressure on television stations”.
Both television stations were associated with the Ukrainian politician Wiktor Medwedczuk, a man with close links with Vladimir Putin. Medwedczuk, who was accused of treason, was arrested in 2021 after Russia's full -way invasion of Ukraine. He came to Russia as part of the exchange of prisoners for Azowa's defenders.
The court will announce a judgment in the case of Nathan Gill in November. His lawyer said he was expecting a prison sentence for a politician.
