Let's create a fund to which Germany will be able to pay very specific money, for which “we will buy the security of our common border, for which we will build the security of Europe,” said Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia on Friday after meetings with the chairwoman of the Bundestag Julia Klöckner.

The Marshal of the Sejm emphasized that Klöckner's visit to Warsaw is a very important sign that “this direction to the West opens in our interparliamentary relations as if again.” He also talked about the need for European cooperation in the context of security. He added that a strong and united Europe has a larger economy and army than Russia.

Hołownia said that he talked to his German counterpart about the “difficult” joint history of Poland and Germany, including about the crimes committed in the times of German Nazism. The Marshal of the Sejm added that commemorating Polish victims in Berlin is the first step in solving the problem of compensation to the victims of war.
