Direct Warning: An official of Moscow says that “there will be war” if NATO breaks a Russian plane

Aleksei Meșkov, Russia's ambassador to France, has provided a direct answer on how Moscow will react, if its aircraft will be shot down in the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO).

Trump: “Yes, I think this”

Attack drones in Poland, MIG-39 aircraft violating Estonia's airspace, surveillance drones above Copenhagen and Oslo airports: intruders on NATO member countries have multiplied in the last two weeks, asking the question of the attitude to adopt, comments on Thursday the French radio station.

In an intervention on Tuesday at the UN, US President Donald Trump has made it clear that NATO countries should break the Russian aircraft that violate their air space.

To the question: “Do you think NATO countries should break the Russian aircraft if they enter their airspace?”, The US president replied, “Yes, I believe this.”

Trump made these statements in front of reporters during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, in the margin of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) held in New York.

Later, he refrained from saying that the United States will join efforts to break down Russian aircraft that violate NATO's airspace.

“It depends on the circumstances,” said the American leader. “But you know, we are very strong like NATO,” he added.

The Ambassador Meșkov: “It would be war”

Aleksei Meșkov, Russia's ambassador to France, reacted to Donald Trump on Thursday to the French RTL radio station. According to him, if such an act had committed, “it would be war”.

“You know, there are many NATO aircraft that violate the Russian air space, (…) it happens quite often. But, they are not shot down,” said the Russian diplomat, without bringing any evidence.

Regarding the incursions of foreign drones and aircraft in the European sky in recent weeks, the response of the Russian ambassador has been categorical: “we deny this”.

“Russia does not do that, it does not play with anyone. It is not our specialty,” says Aleksei Meșkov, who states that the West “cheated” Moscow “countless times.”

Russian incursions, more and more frequent

This statement intervenes in the context of debates in Europe about security measures in the air space of the Black Sea and on the eastern flank of NATO, where Russian drones and aircraft are regularly observed near the Alliance's borders.

Most recently, Denmark was in a position to close Copenhagen airport on Monday after several drones of unknown origin were reported nearby.

Earlier this month, Poland, Romania and Estonia denounced violations of their air space by Russian flights.

On the night of September 9 to 10, more than 20 drones entered the air space of Poland, and Dutch fighter jets broke three of them, a premiere in NATO history since the creation of the Alliance, in 1949 and until now.

But Russia, which has been carrying a bloody war in Ukraine for over three and a half years, denies any kind of involvement: “We are not!”, Giving the West to escalate tensions.

NATO chief: “If necessary”

Also on Thursday, the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, supported the statements made this week by Donald Trump, according to which the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance should break down the Russian drones and planes if they enter their aerial space, if such “necessary”, Reuters said.

“If necessary. So, I completely agree with President Trump: If necessary,” Rutte said in an interview with the “Fox & Friends” show at Fox News, adding that NATO military are trained to evaluate such threats and to determine if they can escort Russian aircraft outside the territory or must take additional measures.

The decision taken by Romania

In Romania, the security of the national airspace was the main subject on the agenda of the meeting that the Supreme Council of Defense of the country had on Thursday.

CSAT has established that the aircraft and military drones that violate the air space of Romania will be shot down at the decision of the Mission commander, according to the NATO rules, and the civil ones at the Defense Minister's decision. Authorities will update the list of objectives to be protected.

“Today I have completed this legal framework with the methodologies regarding the objectives that need drones. This was a point on the agenda. Here all the institutions in the defense system can define, there is a list of objectives that need to be protected, which are updated according to realities. It can include a list of temporary objectives – in the case of an important event, as a result, as a matter of fact, as well as in this case. said the Minister of Defense, Ionuț Mosteanu.
