Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Wednesday in a press conference at the Victoria Palace, that the draft budget rectification will be published in Decision transparency “Later on Friday morning”.

“An important thing is the budget rectification. This rectification will be started, practically, on tomorrow and, at the latest on Friday morning, it will be published in decision-making transparency in order to consult the budget rectification. It will fall into the lines we have presented to you,” said Ilie Bolojan.

The prime minister said that the rectification will be detailed by the Minister of Finance “as soon as it will be publicly communicated”.

“This would mean that at the beginning of next week, at the latest on Tuesday, the Government would be convened in an extraordinary meeting and approve the budget rectification, so as to ensure current payments, to fill in the necessary amounts on social assistance and in other fields, including an additional investment component.”

“It's a pretty tense one”

The prime minister pointed out that “this budget rectification is quite tense, because we are strongly pressured by the investment area.”

“As you know, we overloaded important amounts on the projects in European funds-practically, we doubled the amounts that were allocated to us. Instead of just over 20 billion euros, grant and loan, the signed contracts were about 40 billion euros, if we subtract those that were denounced, so where Ilie had not been signed.”

He said that “this means strong pressure on the budget both this year and the next year.”

“In order for the next year to be able to allocate additional amounts on the investment component, mainly on the Overcontractions in the PNRR program, we need to reduce our operating expenses and, practically, all the money that will be saved next year by discounts, through a better efficiency, will be allocated to the completion of these investment projects. Started in many localities in the country, which concern, for example, by school renovations, their equipment, components of energy efficiency and so on, ”said Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
