President of Gold, George Simion, withdrew Monday night from the presidential debate organized by Digi24, before it begins. He went, offered a bouquet of flowers Elena Lasconi, then left, invoking that she could not be a debate, given that last year's presidential elections were unduly canceled. The Gold leader allowed it to be understood that he will not participate in the other two electoral debates, from TVR (Tuesday night) and Antena3 CNN (Wednesday night): “Out of respect for the Romanian people, I cannot hold this electoral debate. Most surveys credited George Simion with the first chance in the first round of presidential elections. He says that he is supported in the presidential race by the partners in the Party of young people and by Călin Georgescu, although he did not affirm, concretely, the support for the golden candidate.

“We will put Calin Georgescu in front of the country,” Simion wrote on Facebook recently, in a shooting at Mount Athos. He promised “the restoration of the constitutional order”, “the return to the rule of law and the second round” and said that “in one way or another, Călin Georgescu will remain at the forefront of the Romanian state”: “We know what we have to do and all our efforts from the next period will go to this.”
