“The first task for the new president is to stop the company's bleeding”
– The first task for the new president is to stop the company's bleeding and dealing with business basics. In the segment of corporate clients, PZU is doing, but all the detail requires huge work and attention. Costs are also a problem. In the liquidation of damage, which was usually not politically affected, PZU was quite good. Tomasz Tarkowski also manages this area well. PZU has extremely strong competitors – Warta and Uniqa that take away the clients from the company. PZU market shares fall, especially in communication civil liability. Thus, the company becomes less significant for distributors. I am afraid that it will be very difficult – if it is possible – rebuild the market position and it can take at least three years. Very hard work before the company, so I hope that the president was not elected only for the duration of the term of office of this board. I am convinced that it should be longer if anything in PZU is to change for the better – says PB one of the former vice presidents of PZU.
PZU announced that Bogdan Benczak from February 2025 was the managing director of corporate affairs in the PZU Group. He is a legal advisor, a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Warsaw, postgraduate studies at the Academy of Economics in Krakow and MBA managerial studies at the University of Gdańsk. He has many years of experience gained in supervisory and management bodies of companies in Poland and Baltic States.
It has been added that Benczak performed key functions in many entities included in the PZU Group. In the years 2008-2015 he was the president of the PZU Foundation and the director of the Office of Foreign Operations and the PZU Business Bureau (2008-2014). In the years 2010-2014 he was the president of UAB PZU Lietuva, in the years 2009-2017 the president of UAB PZU Lietuva Gyvybes Draudimas, and in the years 2014-2017 President of AAS Balta and at the same time the managing director for foreign operations at PZU SA. In 2015-2017 he was a member of the board of AB Lietuvos Draudimas.
