The Parliament rejected the simple motion deposited by gold against the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu. The document, entitled “The weakening of the energy security of Romania through environmental policies that obstruct the commissioning of hydroelectric plants before 1989”, It was presented as a criticism of government decisions on energy projects.

According to initiators, Romania has become more and more dependent on energy imports, which would expose the country to major risks, so that gold accused that the opposition of the Minister of the Environment to the completion of the hydroelectric plants before 1989 affects the national energy security and weakens the capacity of domestic production.

Surprisingly, although he launched several attacks on the Minister of the Environment and supported the need for motion, the gold leader George Simion did not participate in the vote.

According to the data published on the official website of the Chamber of Deputies, George Simion did not register for Monday vote, which raises question marks on the real intentions of the approach.

The absence of the gold leader was interpreted by many as a proof that the motion represented a political “marketing” strategy rather than a parliamentary action with real stake.
