I hope that President Nawrocki will convince President Trump how urgent the matter of Russian intrusions into airspace – said Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski on Monday before the UN Security Council meeting about the Friday invasion of Russian fighters into the airspace of Estonia.

In this way, Sikorski answered the question of an American journalist about whether he was concerned about the reaction of the United States in the matter of Russian intrusions into NATO airspace.
– Our President Nawrocki has special relations with President Trump. It will be here today and tomorrow and we hope that he will convince him how urgent this matter is – said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In an interview with the media before the meeting of the council, Sikorski announced that during his speech he would express solidarity with “Estonia, Romania and all those countries that are victims of the Russian hybrid war, which part of the violation of the border at sea and air.”
The army was shooting, but did it consult?
Answering the question about the statement of Prime Minister Donald Tusk about the possibility of shooting down Russian objects in the Polish airspace and whether it was consulted with allies, Sikorski replied:
– The Polish Army has a constitutional obligation to defend the borders of the homeland. Nobody will release him from it.
Sikorski also argued that organizing security council meetings in such cases made sense.
– This is the world agora. Here everyone can hear what is being said. So we have to explain why we are increasing the reinforcement, why we strengthen NATO's eastern flank. Precisely because Russia conducts an aggressive war of the conquest in Ukraine and violates international law, breaking international borders at sea and air – he noted.
