The British Minister of Transport Heidi Alexander approved plans to build a second runway at London-Gatwick airport-BBC said on Monday. It is expected that after the expansion in the 1930s, the port will serve about 389 thousand. flights per year; Currently, their number is about 280 thousand.

London-Gatwick airport in West Sussex, about 40 km south of the British capital, is currently the most busy airport in Europe with one runway.
Each year, over 40 million passengers use it. The British government estimates that thanks to investments, their number may increase to 80 million. After opening the second runway, the number of flights performed per day may increase to almost 190.
Currently, daily flights of low -cost airlines are made from the London Gatwick airport, including to Warsaw and Krakow.
