German Air Force announced that they sent two Eurofighter on Sunday morning to track an IL20M Russian military aircraft that had entered the neutral air space above the Baltic Sea, Reuters reports.

“Once again, our fast alert force, consisting of two Eurofighter aircraft, was pregnant by NATO with the investigation of an unidentified aircraft, without flight plan or radio contact in the international air space,” German Air Forces said in a statement.

“It was a Russian recognition plane IL-20m. After visual identification, we taught the escort tasks for our Swedish partners in NATO and we went back to Rostock-Laage,” German Air Forces said.

On Friday, three Russian MIG-31 fighter jets violated Estonia's airspace, where they spent a total time of 12 minutes, until they were forced to withdraw.

After the incident, the Tallinn authorities requested the organization of consultations based on Article 4 of the NATO Treaty of Washington.

Article 4 establishes that the Allies will always consult one of them believes that the territory, political independence and security of one of them is threatened.

North Atlantic Council meets Tuesday

NATO North Atlantic Council will meet on Tuesday to discuss the violation of the Estonian air space by Russia, according to statements made by two officials for Reuters.

Estonia has announced that the UN Security Council will organize an emergency meeting to address the subject, AFP notes.

This month, Russia also violated the air spaces of Romania and Poland.

On September 13, in the area of ​​Chilia Veche in the Delta, a Russian drone sailed for 50 minutes in the airspace of Romania, then leaving the country, under the monitoring of NATO military aircraft.

In Poland, the authorities claimed that the national airspace was violated by at least 19 Russian drones on the night of September 9 to 10. Both the air forces of the country and NATO were mobilized for their breaking.
