Russia has launched 580 drones and 40 missiles on Ukrainian cities. A block from Dnipro, hit with fragmentation ammunition

Russian forces have launched a massive combined attack with rockets and drones on Dnipro, Mikolaiv and other Ukrainian cities on Saturday morning, September 20, causing important material and victims, reports Kyiv Post.

The mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filaatov, announced that a skyscraper was hit by a rocket during the morning.
Dnipro was subjected to repeated attacks with drones overnight, triggering multiple explosions. Subsequently, cruise missiles were recorded in the Ukrainian airspace. Local Telegram channels reported smoke over the city, as well as power feathers and water.
The regional head of Dnipropetrovsk, Serhii Lisak, confirmed that drones and rockets hit the city and surroundings.
Several fires broke out in Dnipro and in the region. High buildings, private houses, annexes and garages were damaged. Damages have also occurred on the lands of the businesses, ”he wrote.
According to preliminary reports, one person killed and 26 other injured, 14 of them hospitalized. A 55 -year -old man is in critical condition, with burns of over 70% of the body.
Vitali Kim regional governor, said that in Mikolaiv that industrial installations were affected and fire broke out.
The head of the Kiev region, Mikola Kalashnik, said that the debris from the targets caused fires and damage in several districts, fires garages, vehicles and a house.
In the Odessa region, the drones hit a warehouse of agricultural equipment, triggering a fire. No victims have been reported.
Volodimir Zelenski's message
President Volodimir Zelenski has announced Moscow has launched 40 cruise and ballistic missiles and about 580 drones of different types.
“I thank all our soldiers who defended the sky all night, our F-16 pilots, who once again proved their skills and worked efficiently in protecting Ukraine from cruise missiles,” he wrote on Telegram.
Zelenski said that Dnipro, Mikolaiv, Cernihiv, Zaporojie, as well as the communities in the Poltava, Kiev, Odessa, Sumî and Kharkov regions were all targeted by the combined attack during the Saturday night.
“The target of the enemy was our infrastructure, the residential areas, the civil enterprises. At DNIPRO there was a direct blow of a rocket with fragmentation on a tall building,” he confirmed.
According to the latest information, dozens of people were injured and at least three people were killed in the attacks.
The president stressed that the attacks are part of Russia's strategy to terrorize civilians and destroy the Ukrainian infrastructure.
“Ukraine has proven that it can defend itself and Europe, but for a reliable shield we must act together: to strengthen the air defense, to increase the supply of weapons, to extend the sanctions against the Russian military car and the sectors that finance it. Every restriction imposed on Russia is a saved life,” Ukraine said.
Ukrainian defense has shot down a large part of Shahed drones
According to Ukraine's air forces, starting on Friday night, Russia has launched a large -scale combined attack on Ukrainian territory, using attack drones, as well as missiles launched from the ground and from the air.
In total, the radar units of the Air Force have detected 619 air attack vehicles, including:
579 shahed drones, as well as bait drones of different types;
8 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;
32 cruise missiles KH-101.
The attack was countered by Ukrainian aviation, air defense rocket units, electronic war, unanswered systems and movable fire groups.
“During the attack, the enemy used the traditional tactics to simultaneously attack targets with a large number of missiles and drones of different types,” the report shows.
Tactical aviation, including F-16 hunting aircraft, has played a key role in intercepting cruise missiles.
“Western weapons once again prove their effectiveness on the battlefield. We thank our partners for the assistance already offered and we are waiting for an additional consolidation of Ukraine in the airspace, both with terrestrial air defense systems and with the aviation component,” said the air forces.
