Italy, the champion en-titre, passed Ukraine on Friday in 2-1 in the semifinals at the BJK Cup Finals, which takes place this week in Shenzhen. His opponent will be decided on Saturday, following the meeting between the US and the UK.

Italy qualified on Friday in the third consecutive final of Billie Jean King Cup, after passing Ukraine in the penultimate act. The BJK Cup Finals is playing this year in Shenzhen, in a painting format. In “quarters”, Italy had passed China 2-0, and Ukraine of Spain 2-0.

Italy, finalist in 2023 (defeated by Canada) and victorious in 2024 (against Slovakia), will play the third consecutive final against the United States or Great Britain, who will face the other semifinal on Saturday.

In the quarterfinals, the US (Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, McCartney Kessle, Hailey Baptiste, Taylor Townsend) passed Kazakhstan with 2-1, and the United Kingdom (Katie Boulter, Francesca Jones, Sonay Kartal, Jodie Anna Bura) by Japan with 2-0.
