US President Donald Trump said on Thursday with British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer that artificial intelligence takes control of the world and hopes that technology bosses know what they are doing, Reuters reports.

Trump and Starmer have hosted leaders in the business and technology, including the director of the NVIDIA chip producer, Jensen Huang, as part of the second state visit to the US President in the UK.

Leaving aside the prepared speech, which celebrated the relationship between the two countries, a new technological partnership and investments of hundreds of billions of dollars, Trump has been addressed to Big Tech leaders.

“This will create a new cooperation between the government, the academic environment and the private sector in areas such as artificial intelligence, which takes control over the world …”, said the US president, before addressing the directors present:

“I look at you, boys. You take control of the world. Jensen, I don't know what you are looking for here,” Trump said, addressing the chief of Nvidia, stirring stingers from Starmer and the public.

“I hope you are right. All I can say is that we both hope you are right.”

Trump has signed an agreement for “technological prosperity” with Starmer

The US president and the British prime minister then signed an “technological prosperity agreement” agreement on common efforts to develop artificial health intelligence models, expand the capabilities of quantum calculation and to make civilian projects more efficient.

As part of the agreement, Nvidia has announced that it will install 120,000 graphic processing units throughout the Britain – the largest number in Europe so far.

Before signing, Trump jokingly asked the secretary of the treasury, Scott Bessent: “Should I sign that?”

“Are you sure, Scott? If the understanding is not good, I make you responsible, Scott,” said Donald Trump.
