They were at L4, they took part in the wedding. The employer revealed everything on the web

Being on sick leave in theory should be devoted to health care. In practice, some employees use L4 for various purposes that contradict the idea of sick leave.

Two employees of the Welin printing house in Stęszew were officially on sick leave. However, they took part in the wedding last weekend: one of them was the bride, while the other was a guest of the ceremony. At least, this is the result of an entry in social media of the employer who revealed what his employees are doing at the time when they should recover.
As reported by Gazeta.pl, a photo from the wedding ceremony appeared on the profile of the printing house, at which both employees mentioned were. “Finally, we know why our employees from the service department were needed long -term L4! Which disrupted the work of the office” – it was written in the post, which is quoted by Gazeta.pl. Peculiar “wishes” have also been added. “We wish you luck in the fight against ZUS for “left” l4” – it was written in a Facebook post on the printing house.

The employer's actions very quickly met with the firm reaction of Internet users who opposed the publication of photos of employees. The photograph was presented by people employed in the printing house and bystanders fully visible. It was noted that the employer had no right to publish private photos and the image of people without their consent.

The printing house itself – as Gazeta.pl reports – did not accept the criticism of her action. One of the entries quoted Napoleon Bonaparte and his words suggesting that negative comments are an encouragement to the internet “war”. Ultimately, however, after a massive criticism, the printing house decided to remove the post.
As Gazeta.pl reminds, the employer has no right to publish photos of an employee from her wedding. Even if at the same time she was officially on L4. To do this, the consent of the person who was immortalized in the photo is necessary. In addition, the publication of materials that suggest a specific context (insinuating fraud, abuse of sick leave) may be considered a violation of the good name of the person presented.
