Gaz- System has completed a tender for the selection of the FSRU sea part of the sea part in the Gulf of Gdańsk – the company said on Wednesday. She emphasized that both the land part of the FSRU project and most of its sea parts will be implemented by Polish companies.

“Gaz-System considers a tender procedure completed for the selection of contractors of the FSRU sea part in the Gulf of Gdańsk. The correctness of the contract with the Polish-Turkish consortium was confirmed,” said the press spokeswoman of the company Iwona Dominiak.
On April 2, Gaz -System signed a contract with the general contractor for the sea part of the FSRU program in the Gulf of Gdańsk – a consortium, composed of: GAP Inssaat Yatirim Ve Dis Ticaret AS as a leader, Unitek Inssaat Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS and Fabe Polska.
The consortium will be responsible for the preparation of the executive project, the delivery of machines and equipment and the construction of the sea part of the FSRU program. These actions include the creation of a parking and mooring quay with the infrastructure necessary to operate the regasification unit, as well as the construction of a submarine gas pipeline, which will connect the terminal with the national transmission system.
Dominiak announced that work on the investment – both at sea (offshore) and on land (onshore) – are currently running without interference. Although the appeal procedures could affect the schedule, all involved entities focus on timely implementation of the investment.
The spokeswoman pointed out that 70 percent Polish companies will be performed on the sea part of the FSRU, including the implementation of specialized works and deliveries.
“As an investor, we are particularly happy to ensure the possibility of participating in the work on the maritime part of FSRU to Polish companies, whose participation in the performance of the sea part is already 70 percent. Such a participation of Polish companies among subcontractors also carrying out specialized works and deliveries has been reported by the selected Polish -Turkish consortium for the present time,” she said.
Dominiak reported that in 2024 28 contracts for delivery and services were signed, necessary for the construction of 250 km of gas pipelines from Gdańsk, to Gdańsk. Their total value is about PLN 1.8 billion. Producers were producers of pipes and fittings as well as contractors of construction services and supervision only from Poland.
In 2024, Gaz-System concluded a total of 1526 contracts for over PLN 2.1 billion. Only a small part of contracts (2.7 percent) was signed with foreign contractors, mainly from the European Union.
The company emphasizes that both the land part of the FSRU project and most of its sea parts will be implemented by Polish contractors and suppliers.
The FSRU terminal will be located in the southern part of the Gulf of Gdańsk, in the immediate vicinity of the Baltic Hub container terminal and the water track leading to the Gdańsk port, at a distance of about 3 km from the sea shore. A permanent regasification unit (FSRU – Floating Storage Regasification Unit), i.e. a ship adapted to process gas storage (LNG) received from methane and changing its concentration from liquid to gas, will be fixed to the quay. In this form, gas will then be transmitted, through a submarine gas pipeline, to the national transmission network.
The construction of the waterfront in the Gulf of Gdańsk is expected to begin with the deputies, which is scheduled for the second half of 2025. The planned date of launching the FSRU terminal is the first quarter of 2028.
Belonging in 100 percent to the Treasury, the Gaz-System gas transmission system is responsible for the transmission of natural gas and manages the most important gas pipelines in Poland; He is the owner and operator of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. (PAP)
