Zambia. Attempted to murder the president with spells. The key proof of the chameleon

The case began with a rumor that the opposition MP, Emmanuel “Jay Jay”, conflicted with the president of Zambia, fled abroad and is looking for a powerful shaman who will help him take revenge.

The police selected several suspicious people and on December last year detained two traditional healers – a citizen of Mozambique and the Zambian village head who admitted that the brother of the MP had contacted them.

During the search of the office, in which they accepted the help of the Holidays, many amulets, powdered bones, dried leather and a live chameleon were found. It was this lizard that was the main proof in the case that attracted the attention of the Zambian for several months.

The chameleon convinced the judge

During the trial, the accused admitted that the amulets in their possession had powerful power, while the chameleon's tail subjected to appropriate procedures could cause the death of the indicated person within a few days.

The trial of the trial, Fine Mayambu gave faith to these testimonies and ruled on Monday that both of the defendants wanted to kill the head of state, for which he sentenced them to 24 months in prison and hard work.

President Hichilema himself was not interested in the trial. Shortly after the detention of would -be killers, he only declared that he did not believe and use healers' services in Czary.

Traditional healers, in Zambia, called Mutumwa nchimi, are in many African countries “first contact doctors”. In newspapers, on fences and trees you can find thousands of advertisements in which they ensure that they will heal every disease, from colds, through malaria to HIV, will dismiss misfortunes, reverse the thrown charms.

They also offer help in solving very prosaic problems, such as the bloodless getting rid of persistent night pisks of bats or barking neighbor's dogs. More advanced can recall locally rain in dry season. And they have millions of customers.

In Zambia, the cost of a visit to a healer starts from 50 kwach, or about $ 2, but amulets and spells can cost 50 or even $ 100. Running the rain is valued in Zambia at three chickens, one of which is devoted to her blood to break dry soil.

In Liberia, and faith in their power is so strong that it is often terrifying with a visit to the ZO, as healer and shamans are traditionally referred to in this country, is more effective and cheaper than the call of the police.
