The Prime Minister had today, at the Victoria Palace, consultations with the representatives of the unions in the public administration, on the reform and their claims. The head of the Government stressed that Romania is facing major budgetary pressures and insisted on a responsible public resources management.

We can no longer continue as before. The budgetary realities are clear, regardless of who the prime minister is. If we do not take the necessary measures on time, later the costs will be much higher. We can make the changes in the administration in a planned way, in dialogue with the authorities, so that those who remain decent, respected and do their job. People will understand that there is a connection between the level of taxes they pay and the quality of the services offered by the City Hall. Support local autonomy but to the extent of the resources that the country has”, Said Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

The representatives of the unions are willing to postpone any protest action, but they ask for a clear legislative calendar and the continuation of the dialogue.
