Electrics reached 8 percent “Poles will register 45,000 by the end of the year”

At the end of the year, the number of registration of new electric cars registered may exceed 45,000. copies – according to the estimates of the Polish Association of New Mobility. For this to happen, the number of registrations compared to the first eight months of the year should accelerate twice.

According to the data of the Polish Association of Automotive Industry, 21,377 new electric passenger cars (+94.5 percent y/y) came from the beginning of the year to the end of August in Poland, and their market share was up to 5.7 percent. Along with electric vans in the analyzed period in Poland, nearly 22.5 thousand were registered in Poland. new electricians (5.3 percent market share).

– The total number of personal, delivery and truck registrations in 2025 may exceed 45,000. – assesses Maciej GIS from the Polish Association of New Mobility in an interview with Bankier.pl.

For comparison, 44,000 were registered in Poland in Poland. cars enabling charging from the socket. Among them, however, were plug-in hybrids.

Summer acceleration in offices

Although at the beginning of the year the number of registration of electricians would not give hope for such a result, the chances appeared in the summer, when the number of registration was clearly accelerated. August was the third month in a row, in which the number of new electricians exceeded 3,000, and their market share approached 8 percent.

If you add plug-in hybrids to them, it turns out that almost every sixth (15.8 percent) new car registered in Poland had the possibility of charging from the socket.

Mainly due to the growing popularity of electricians at the highest level was also a share in the car market with alternative drives, which amounted to 63.9 percent.

For comparison, in the last and early 2025, the share of electricians in the new car market oscillated around 3 percent.

The increase in the number of registration of electric cars should certainly be associated with the program of subsidies for the purchase of electricians “Naszaauto”. According to government statistics, until mid -August, Poles submitted 2755 applications for subsidies for the purchase of electricians for a total amount of nearly PLN 88.5 million.

Subsidies for “vans” in preparation

Much worse results are listed in the case of vans. During the first eight months of 2025, 1120 electric delivery vans of up to 3.5 tons arrived at the Central Vehicle and Drivers' database. Their market share was 2.4 percent.

Soon, however, this may change due to changes in the government program of subsidies for the purchase of electricians “Naszaauto”. As we wrote last week, the main change proposed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management is to include additional payments with a mass of up to 3.5 t and vehicles from the M2 category, i.e. buses for transporting people with more than eight places for passengers and a mass of up to 5 tons, not just passenger cars, as at present.

Importantly, unlike so far, in the case of commercial cars and buses, not only individual customers and people conducting sole proprietorship could benefit from subsidies.

In the case of passenger cars, which only individual customers could receive subsidies for individual and sole proprietorship, the maximum rate would be maintained at 40,000. zloty. However, the bonus for low -income people was abandoned. In vans, the upper threshold was set at 70,000. zloty. Subsidies for electric buses could, however, be as much as 600,000. zloty.
