Dictators do not want to die. East versus west. Fight for freedom and immortality

In the book “Homo Deus” the Israeli visionary Juwal Noach Harari described a process that changed the horizons of humanity: having overcome hunger, illness and war, man for the first time dared to set himself a goal not to survive, but prolonging life and even immortality. This goal ceased to be a metaphor and became a new arena of competition.

This is indicated by the fact that the behind-the-scene conversation between XI Jinping and Vladimir Putin, “accidentally” overheard by journalists, did not concern a nuclear war or arms, but life expectancy: “70-year-old is still a boy”, “you should live 150.” As Peter Sauer writes, Dictators have long thought about endless governmentswhich is deeply rooted in Chinese tradition, as well as in European tradition – Silvio Berlusconi was not alone in his pursuit of extending his life and also dreamed of 150 years.

It is symbolic that the military parade of deadly equipment and conversation about immortality were next to each other as two support points for future confrontation: One hand treats by pressing the nuclear button, the other tries to capture longevity. Our present has become a non -abstract dream of the philosopher, but a political field in which two approaches collide: the right pole, through technology, humanism and knowledge; Left pole, through control, transplantology and the use of other people's bodies.
