The explosion occurred in the premises located in the Puente de Vallecas district in the south of the city. The wounded were transported to hospitals.
There are also several apartments in the building where the cafe is located. Madrid authorities have announced that due to damage by an explosion of the structure of the building, tenants will be transferred to other places for at least a few days.
