On Pasului street, corner with Armeneasca Street, a high -ground floor villa, a Marquis of Francaise and Daddraments beautified with Mascheroni bears its noble past in silence.
It has a monumental entrance, with stone stairs, it is guarded by massive columns.
It is a building erected at the beginning of the 20th century and designed in an eclectic style with neoclassical elements and is part of the built -in Armenian protected area, without anyone protecting it, in fact, the unclear passage of time and neither the chronic carelessness from the architectural heritage of Bucharest.
Left and increasingly degraded, the building that was once the residence of Arthur and Hermina Drechsel is slowly extinguishing, from year to year, waiting for better times that do not come.
The Drechsel family, which was one of the most wealthy in Bucharest, owned the ADESGO factory, real estate in Bucharest and the villa in Snagov where the Nazi German Ambassador in Bucharest, Baron Manfred von Killinger, lived. A fortune that was confiscated after the war and, mostly, came into possession of the Russians.
