Apple presented the new AirPods Pro 3 headphones on Tuesday, which offers a whole series of news and improvements, but not all will be used in the European Union, against the background of GDPR, reports Reuters, quoted by News.ro.
One of the most notable new functions of these headphones is real -time translation. It is not exactly available on the EU territory at the time of launch.
Moreover, on the official website it clearly writes that Live Translation will not be available to users who take into account the EU and live in this region.
The American company does not provide a reason for this, but most likely, the restriction is related to how personal data and GDPR legislation are managed.
Live Translation translates into real time in headphones what the interlocutor says, with the option of transcribing on the screen of an iPhone. Apple says this functionality works best when both people wear headphones.
The functionality will also be available on older headphones, such as Airpods 4 and Airpods Pro 2. However, the translations will be available in a limited number of languages: in English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish, and by the end of the year will add four languages: Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese (simplified).
The AirPods Pro 3 headphones will be available from September 19 and will cost $ 250.
