The presidential candidate who believes that each Romanian should have “two or three weapons”: “How many soldiers can bring Russia to us, 500,000? We are 18 million”

John-Ion Banu-Muscel (64 years old), an independent presidential candidate, said on Wednesday evening, during the debate from Antena 3 CNN organized at the Parliament Palace, that every Romanian has the democratic right to defend and ask why Romania should buy weapons and planes, under the conditions in which it is a NATO member.
John Ion Banu said on Wednesday night that every Romanian should have “two or three weapons”, but that Romania should not continue the army's endowment, writes news.ro.
“I do not see why we buy more planes or more prisons from the US when we have to do it in relation to what NATO logistics say. Even less I would say to participate in these expenses, given that we are a little in danger, due to our position closer to Russia,” said John-Ion Banu-Muscel.
Asked by the TV presenter Mircea Badea if each Romanian should carry a weapon, the candidate said that if “the Romanians were armed, the Russians would be afraid to invade us.”
“He would take fear, I tell you. A kind of national war, how to feel … how many soldiers can bring Russia to us? 500,000? We are 18 million. Multiply 18 million by two or three and you realize what danger we put on the Russians. It may not come. His safety, his demo right to defend himself.
Also, the independent candidate was asked if it would not be better to go over the Russians and take our treasure back.
“Wrong, stay bad with mathematics. If we go over Russia, there are 140 million,” said Banu, a moment that raised laughter.
