The five -member judge of the Supreme Court issued a judgment just a few hours after the conviction of the former leader. The judges indicated that the former president is guilty of managing a conspiracy aimed at keeping him in power after he lost the election in 2022 with his left -wing rival Lula da Silva.

At the beginning of August, the Supreme Court of Brazil decided to place the former president in the house arrest. The Supreme Court judge, the Alexandre de Moraes judge, assessed that Bolsonaro did not comply with preventive measures imposed on him in July. Among them was a ban on publishing in social networks and contacts with foreign officials.
