UEFA has announced that the final of the Champions League of 2027 will be played on “Wanda Metropolitano”, the stadium at Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid's arena, considered from the very beginning a favorite to host the final, was chosen due to its modern facilities, high standards of hospitality, as well as its experience in organizing major international events.
The decision was taken on Thursday, September 11, at the UEFA meeting that took place in Tirana, Albania.
Since the inauguration of 2017, the stadium has hosted both top matches and important events.
Will be the second final of the Champions League played on Metropolitano
The final of 2027 will be the second hosted by the ultra -modern stadium. In 2019, Liverpool defeated the same stadium on Tottenham with a score of 2-0. The arena has a capacity of 67,703 spectators.
The 2026 final has already been established to take place on the “Puskas Arena” in Hungary. The previous edition was held on “Allianz Arena” in Munich, where Paris Saint-Germain won the title in front of Inter with the 5-0 score.
