The Polish army knocked Russian drones. Questions about the cost of the operation

On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday (September 9-10), 19 violations of Polish airspace were traced by Russian drones. Those that pose a direct threat were shot down. Karol Nawrocki said that the Russian provocation was an attempt to test our abilities, including the ability to react politicians, including Prime Minister and President of Poland. – It was an attempt to check the mechanism of action within the North Atlantic Alliance and our readiness for reaction – emphasized the president.
After the raid of Russian drones, losses that have been caused are estimated. At the same time, there were questions in the public space about the cost of the entire action, which the army took against Russian drones.
It is known that the neutralization of drones was mainly dealt with by Polish F-16 fighters and Dutch F-35. As Mariusz Marszałkowski from the Defense24 portal explained on TVN24, it is difficult to apply “economic” destruction of such goals. “Gerbera, a drone of plastic and polystyrene, costs from 10 to 20,000 dollars, while the Amraam bullet costs $ 2-2.5 million” ” – explained the expert.

The Polish Army did not provide any – even approximate amounts – which was absorbed by the action of neutralizing drones over Poland. At the same time, representatives of the army directly say that simple conversion factor cannot be used.
“What the army used to shoot down drones is a military secret. We observed an intensified movement of experts who said that we were shooting very expensive rockets,” said the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army General Wiesław Kukuła in an interview with TVN.

General Kukuła strongly emphasized that the value of the rocket that was used to neutralize drones is not significant. What Russian equipment could destroy more. “If this is to be the life of a Pole, it does not have a price. We will use a hundred times more expensive rocket, if we save the life of at least one Pole (…) I emphasize, even if this rocket cost $ 100 million, then if we think that something threatens life, threatens the city, threatens the villages, the pilot's finger will not move when he fires it,” said the head of the general staff of the Polish army Kukuła in an interview with TVN.
