In the face of the growing threat from unmanned aircraft, Poland antimicidative defense must evolve and be ready for new challenges. According to Milczanowski, current systems such as Skyctrl or Hawk, although they are promising, require integration and greater range of action. The expert pointed out that the lack of an adequate pace of implementing these solutions sets Poland with a two -year delay in relation to potential threats.
Milczanowski suggested that the defense system could be strengthened thanks to a special mobile application. According to the expert, users could report the location of the noticed drones, which would allow them to quickly identify and react. At the same time, he emphasized that these activities should be coordinated with Ukrainian systems, which would give Poland a “powerful scope of activity”.

“The number of drones justified the shooting down”
In the context of incidents, such as a violation of Polish airspace during Russia's attack on Ukrainian purposes, the expert praised the information policy of the current authorities. According to Milczanowski, the rapid and transparent transmission of information by defensive departments is crucial, especially in crisis situations.
At the same time, he assessed the shooting down of hostile unmanned aerial vehicles as a decision not only necessary, but also right, despite the high costs of the rockets used. “It was another incident, and the number of drones justified such action,” noted the expert. He noted, however, that the lack of cheaper means of neutralizing drones can be a strategic weakness for a larger scale of attacks.
Milczanowski reminded that when the drone is noticed, citizens should report this fact to the appropriate services and avoid approaching the device. He also emphasized that panic is inadvisable, and Russia's actions in the field of hybrid attacks are mainly aimed at destabilizing and testing Polish defense resources.
Precise informing society
The expert drew attention to the wider context of these activities, binding them with Military Exercises Zapad 2025, which are traditionally related to generating the atmosphere of threat in the region. “It is all planned. It is crucial to inform society in a quick and precise way, while not neglecting the expansion of our defense system” – he added.
We would like to remind you that at night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Polish army faced subsequent violations of the airspace, resulting from a Russian attack on Ukraine. According to the Ministry of National Defense, several unmanned facilities were identified and tracked thanks to the radar systems of Poland and its allies. Some of them, which could pose a security threat, were shot down at the request of the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces.
