In the Central District Court of Krasnoyarsk, a criminal case against the former head of the Federal Siberian Scientific and Clinical Center of the FMBA of Russia Boris Barankin is coming to an end and representative of the supplier organization.

It was established that with 2019 in 2021, the defendants organized a scheme of fictitious supplies of drugs for the federal medical institution. “Budget funds in the amount of over 15 million rubles were transferred to a commercial company for the supply of drugs that were purchased and transferred to the institution. However, the list of delivered drugs did not correspond to the actual purchase. Medications were acquired based on the personal needs of the organizer of the scheme and his wife, and they were used for medical and cosmetic purposes“, – said in the prosecutor's office.
Currently, the judicial investigation has been completed. The defendants did not plead guilty and deny the crime.
Nevertheless, the state prosecutor, guided by the principles of legality and justice, asked the court to find them guilty of empties on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and impose a punishment in the form of 7 years in prison in the penitentiary colony of a common regime and a fine of 800 thousand rubles in the form of 7 years in the Krasnoyarsk branch. For a representative of the supplier company, the charge asks for 4 years in prison.
