“Russia's three -year -old European journey has come to an end.” Russian political scientist about what awaits Russia after the war in Ukraine

Sergei Karaganow is one of the co -founders of the Wałdajski Discussion Club and a former dean of the Faculty of World Economy and World Policy of the National University of Economics. Karaganow has today published a text in the “Russian newspaper” that in the war in Ukraine Russia will not win such as above the armies of Napoleon and Hitler. According to Karaganów, this will mean “the lack of” permanent peace “and” continuation of drift towards World War III “.
Under these conditions, writes Karaganow, Russia needs siberizationwhich will consist in sending veterans of war to Siberia.
The victory in the war of 1812, as the political scientist writes, “provided Europe with four decades of peace”, and “the victory in World War II in combination with the appearance of nuclear weapons ensured a relative peace for seven decades.”
Without the victory “similar to the one from 1815 and 1945, the world will continue to be heading towards the Third World War,” says Karaganow. “The peace with elites exercising power in many European countries, in the United States and Ukraine will probably not be possible to achieve in the near future,” we read in the publication.
Karaganow continues about the need to return to the east. “Three -year -old European journey of Russia has come to an end. (…) It is time to take care of each other, home, to the sources of our history as a great power. And they are in Siberia,” writes a political scientist.
To this end, “a project is being developed Return to the east 2.0, i.e. the siberization of Russia. A project is being created in parallel Living idea-dream of Russia. The Russian Code in the 21st centurywhich is to become an ideological basis for the further development of our country-civilization, “writes Karaganow. The first results, according to a political scientist, began to be presented to the Kremlin.
The strategy, as Karaganow writes, “should be similar to the Franklin Roosevelt program, which was called New Deal”, which allowed “to ensure the work of a huge number of unemployed and relieve social tensions.”
Quote: “Soldiers who will return from the war with the West in Ukraine should not only complement the management class, but also receive a perspective, highly qualified and well -paid work, building a new infrastructure of Siberia. Many of them will become there, will become Siberians, as it was during the construction of Transsyb and BAM,” wrote Karaganov.
Context. Karaganow is one of the founders of the organization for foreign and defense policy (SWOP), closely related to the Russian authorities. On its website, SWOP openly writes that “conducts its activities in close cooperation” with the president's administration and security services.
SWOP is one of the founders of the Wałdajski Club, where Putin meets with foreign experts. By 2021, Karaganow also managed the Department of World Policy and Economics at the National University of Economics.
In June 2023, the magazine “Profile” published an article of a political scientist in which he proposed to conduct a preventive nuclear impact on Europe. “It is a morally terrible choice – we use God's weapon, condemning ourselves to heavy spiritual losses. But if we do not do it, not only Russia may die, but most likely all human civilization will end,” wrote Karaganow.
