From the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has been successfully looking for sources of the influx of foreign currency, Despite the sanctions and export restrictions. Russian arms companies, which provide weapons and other elements of the armed machine, receive payment in cash, whose total weight from 2022 could already exceed the ton. According to Nordsint investigative service, the heart of the whole system is RosoboronekSport – a Russian state -owned arms trade broker, along with a group of arms companies.
It also participates in, among others Russian state air conglomerate United Aircraft Corporation. According to Nordsint One of the clients of Russian companies is a country belonging to NATO, and more specifically – the Turkish defense industry agency.

Türkiye among the clients of the Russian industry
The Turkish Defense Industry Agency sent a batch of banknotes weighing 23.4 kg and EUR 5 million to Rosoboronekport. Earlier, in August 2024, Reuters reported thatTürkiye was the main node of importing banknotes to the Russian Federation. Officially, the import of banknotes to Russia is banned with Western sanctions from the beginning of Putin's aggression to Ukraine.
Myanma, favorable to Russia, is another of Moscow's active global partners. RosoboronekSport and United Aircraft Corporation sent there, among others parts for aircraft and technical documentation. In exchange for Russia, cash bags were transported. In October 2023, according to Nordsint, RosoboronekSport was to receive a package weighing 492.5 kg. The description of the parcel showed that it was a “legal means of payment” for the amount of $ 50 million.
Another series of payments for Russia came from the Turkmenistan Ministry. Hydroaviasalon LLC, a subsidiary of the Beriev Aircraft Company Air Company, was to receive 74 kg of banknotes from the Turkmenistan Ministry of Defense worth almost $ 35 million.
