Former Russian President Dmitri Medvedev accused Finland of Finland of following a confrontation for a war against Russia and again asked the Finnish government to pay Moscow for World War II, DPA and Agerpres reports.

“After joining NATO, under the pretext of defensive measures, Helsinki attended a confrontation course as a war training with Russia and apparently prepares a bridgehead for an attack on us,” wrote in an article for the Russian State Agency, former Russian president Dmitri Medvedev, currently Vice-President of the National Council of the Federation.

According to the Russian official, command structures of the Finnish army units were created in the Lapland region, “in the immediate vicinity of the border with Russia.” It is clear against whom these structures are directed, as NATO said enemy Russia, Medvedev notes in the article entitled: “The new doctrine of Finland: stupidity, lies, ingratitude.”

Russia wants war repairs from Finland

Finland, who was neutral throughout the post -war period, finally decided to adhere to NATO, as well as Sweden, after the Russian invasion in Ukraine. Since then, Russia has sees a threat in intensifying the efforts to grow the defense capacities of this neighboring country with which it had direct military conflicts.

Considering that thus Finland violates old agreements, Russia now resumes past requests on war repairs and is no longer obliged by virtue of the 1947 Peace Treaty, which limit to $ 300 million the Russia's war repair claims to Finland. As Dmitri Medvedev argues, the present value of the damages caused by Russia by Finland in World War II would amount to 20 trillion rubles, which is about $ 244 billion.
