Darth Vader's light sword, a character from the film series “Star Wars”, was sold at auction in Los Angeles for $ 3.6 million. This is the most expensive item associated with this universe that has ever been sold at the auction – said the London Auction House Propstore.

The sword, one of the most recognizable in the history of cinema, appeared, among others in the films “Empire counterattacks” and “Return of the Jedi”.
– (The price achieved at the auction – PAP) indicates the endless influence of “Star Wars” and the passion of fans and collectors who perceive such artifacts as the milestone of modern mythology – said the director of Propstore Brandon Alfer.
Vader's sword was sold on Thursday during the auction of props and film souvenirs lasting three days.
So far, among others, whip, belt and holster made for Harrison Ford for the needs of the film “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” from 1989 (for $ 485.1 thousand), a plate with the inscription “Peron 9 3/4” from films about the wizard of Harry Potter (138.6 thousand dollars) and a device for deleting memory in “Men in black” (approx. 315,000 dollars).
