The president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, will be received on Wednesday, September 3, in Cotroceni, by President Nicușor Dan, informs the Presidential Administration.

According to the president's agenda, Costa will meet Nicușor Dan around 7:00 pm. The two officials will have tee-a-tete calls and official calls. In the end, Nicușor Dan and Antonio Costa will have joint press statements.

Antonio Costa comes to Bucharest in a “tour of the capitals” of the Member States, which he does in the first three weeks of September.

“During the next three weeks, I will travel to Europe to meet with EU leaders in their respective capitals. These discussions will contribute to establishing our common agenda for the next months. As president of the European Council, it is my duty to listen and understand the priorities of all leaders – especially in these times. In order to strengthen our cooperation, because, in the unpredictable world of today, our unit is our largest force, ”said Antonio Costa, quoted in a statement of the European Council.

The visit of the President of the European Council to Romania comes two days after the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

On Monday, President Nicușor Dan met at the military base “Mihail Kogălniceanu”, with the head of the European Commission.
