Morska wind energy needs to be developed. This should be a flagship project above divisions and for generations

When starting the construction of wind farms as part of the first phase designs, we must look at the development prospects not only of the energy itself but also the entire economy. This should be a flagship project above divisions connecting not only new sectors, but also generations.

In July, the largest 15 MW wind turbines in Europe began to spin in Europe. They are windmills erected by Baltic Power, Orlen and Northland Power. Ultimately, at the height of the mine, 75 turbines and a total power of 1200 MW will stand. A slightly east at the back of the beach in Kopalin is already working a team that makes a drilling under the bottom, which will run a cable leading power from the largest Polish marine wind farm – Baltica 2 with a power of 1500 MW built by PGE and Orsted.

A farm will be created west of the Northland Power farm BC Winds Built by the Winds Ocean. A few days ago, the company signed a contract with Tele-Fonika and P&F for the implementation of the so-called Cable bench for the BC-Wind wind farm design and the supply of land export cable system.

Near the mine and Choczewa in Osieki Lęborskie, the construction of a large station of Polish electricity networks is being built, to which cables leading the power from sea wind farms and the planned nuclear power plant in Choczewo will be stretched. Electricity will flow from this station to the south of the country.

This is the first stage of the power output from the north of the country to the south, there are also plans to build a HVDC permanent cable from the sea to Silesia.

After years of planning, political scuffles regarding the location of the installation port sea wind energy finally begins to gain pace. Finally, because we need it like oxygen. There are several reasons:

1. We need new power as soon as possible, because by 2040 the power installed in the carbon energy from 20 to approx. 5 MW will fall, at this time it will fall out of the system, among others Bełchatów – the largest coal power plant in Poland and the entire EU and at the same time the largest CO2 issuer in the Union;

2. We need green powers, because in the face of climate disaster we must stop burning coal and reduce CO2 emissions (let the climate denials finally start combining dots.

This year, despite the not very hot summer, we have a record low level of the Vistula and other rivers – which shows that climate change began to overlap much earlier and this is a complicated layout of dependence, which got out of control and hard to manage it). In addition, global concerns need green energy for their activities and to not only attract, but also to maintain investors we must provide such energy;

3. Finally, we need power from windmills, because it is the cheapest energy. Of course, electricity is the cheapest of the windmills on land, where, according to Irena (International Agency for Renewable Energy) from 2021, LCOE (LCOEE (LCEYLEZED COST OF ELECTRICITY – ADDITIONAL COST OF ELECTRIC ENERGY generation, which determines the minimum price needed to cover all investment costs, operational and financial installations throughout its life cycle) for windmills on land was about 35 life cycle) USD/MWH, but this type of energy is not lucky with the United Right politicians who have been blocking its development for years.

Energy from sea windmills is of course more expensive than the LCOE land here is about 75 USD/MWh, but it is true that their construction is following much higher costs associated largely with logistics.

As part of the 1st phase projects until 2030, wind farms in the Baltic with a capacity of 5.9 GW will be created, they have differential CFD contracts for 25 years. In 2021, the amount of PLN 320/MWh was set and it is indexed annually with inflation. Now it is PLN 445/MWh, and the average price of energy on the stock exchange in 2025 is PLN 428.

For phase II projects, the contract amount will be determined by auction, where the entity will win the lowest offer for the sale of energy. Due to the fact that phase II projects will be located at different distances from the shore, thresholds have been designated from PLN 486 to PLN 512/MWh. On December 17, the Energy Regulatory Office planned auctions for phase II projects.

In a recent interview for the portal WysokieNapiecie.pl PSE President Grzegorz Onichimowski criticized the industry, among others For bidding with the government on maximum prices (the industry expected they would be higher). In his opinion, this raises fears that the offers in the auction will be close to the level of maximum prices, and these are already standing from the wholesale prices of electricity.

A few days ago on one of the social networks The president of PGE Baltica Bartosz Fedurek reminded that, unlike other countries, the costs of moving power out of the marine wind farms are taken by farm building companies, which increases Capex costs by approx. 30 percent. In his opinion, in the last 2-3 years, renewable energy developers have dealt with a difficult situation caused by high inflation dynamics, high levels of interest rates, war in Ukraine and new US policy.

As Fedurek writes:

“Offshore has never been and was not to be the source of the” cheapest electricity. ” From the beginning it was strategic: it develops industry, creates new jobs, gives the most stable generation profile of weather -dependent renewable energy (and thus requires a minimum backup in control sources) and on a large scale limits the dependence on hydrocarbons. “

We need cheap energy with zero and low -emission sources.
Because without it we will not only stop attracting investments, but also lose competitiveness on the market.

The last 35 years are a powerful economic and civilization leap of our country, the best crowning of Poland is Poland's occupation of 20 positions among the richest countries in the world. Our economy must have more growth motorbikes.
One of them is energy transformation and modern energy production technologies. Having access to the Baltic Sea, which in our part is characterized not only by good conditions for the foundation of sea windmills, but also quite promising windy we must use this potential.

While in the previous decades the Baltic Sea gave fishermen and shipyards building ships, so now there is a chance to build a modern industry giving green energy.
