State vs. private in education. Salary differences in schools, kindergartens and afterschools

Kindergartens, private schools, BeFore & After School businesses that work especially in the big cities in the country generate over 7,000 jobs and 300,000 applications, due to the salaries they offer, according to a market analysis.

A private kindergarten director has a salary of about 10,000 lei per month, and those who run schools or high schools can reach or even exceed 15,000 lei. The wage ceilings vary according to the experience that the candidates and the professional certifications have. The highest salaries are in Bucharest, in the lower cities the level being about 25% lower than in the Capital.

In the case of private schools, the wage thresholds differ depending on the education cycle. Thus, according to Salario, the EJobs brand salary comparator, if the salary of a beginner teacher is about 4,000 lei per month, for those who have at least 5 years of experience exceeds 5,000 lei. A teacher from the high school cycle earns between 5,000 and 8,000 lei, depending on the seniority, but also the specialization it has.

At the state, old teachers take 7,500 lei, plus bonuses

In the state education system, the basic salary of a teacher is about 3,900 net lei, and that of a beginner teacher between 3,500 and 4,200 lei. The more the age and the didactic degree in which the salary ceilings are also increased, so that a teacher with over 25 years and grade 1 reaches a basic salary between 6,800 and 7,500 net lei. To these salaries can be added different bonuses, such as the management allowance, the gradation of merit, the doctoral increase or the increase for teaching in isolated areas, but also extrasalarial benefits such as holiday vouchers.

Education unions will boycott the beginning of the school year

The president of the Federation Spiru Haret, Marius Nistor, recently said that there is no question of a general strike in education but only a boycott on September 8 of the beginning of the school year.
