The first Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS from a special series, dedicated to celebrating 50 years by Transfăgărașan was delivered to the Romanian owner. David Popovici (20 years old), the multiple Olympic, world and European champion and the brand's ambassador, was present at the event.
In 2024, it has been 50 years since Transfăgărașan was used, the famous road that crosses the Carpathians and unites Muntenia and Transylvania. And in 2024, 50 years have been celebrated since the first model of Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, so a special edition of this car was announced, called “Tribute to Transfăgărășan”.
David Popovici, the ambassador of Porsche in Romania, was missing from the event. He drove the Spyder model, which he purchased in exchange for 120,000 euros. He posted some pictures on social networks.

Last year, the Porsche Sonderwunsch team, which aims to create personalized cars, announced 10 units of the 911 Carrera 4, each to be customized by customers. They were invited to the company headquarters to discuss the details and how the model will look.
And the first car was delivered to the new owner. The rest will arrive at the end of August.
The car, which was also the protagonist of a photo shoot on Transfăgărășan, comes in dark gray, and the engine grid has details of red, yellow and blue. In different areas, the message “Tribute to Transfăgărășan” is inscribed.
Porsche 911 Carrera GTS comes with T-Hybrid propulsion system, which is based on a 3.6-liter boxer engine. The car has 541 horsepower and reaches 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds. Can reach a maximum speed of 312 km/h. The starting price of a classic model, without personalization, is 183,000 euros.
“Last year we had the opportunity to go to Transfăgărășan, for the 50th anniversary of the car. And it inspired us a lot. So we decided to make 10 personalized units, as a tribute to one of the most legendary Romania,” said Alexander Fabig, vice-president of the “Individualisation & Classic” Division.
