The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine about Germany's aggression on Poland: We cannot repeat mistakes

“That day in 1939 Hitler attacked Poland – and soon Stalin joined him – starting World War II, the most conflicting in history,” wrote Sibiha.
“Today it is extremely important to remind what preceded that day: weakness and naive faith that territorial concessions will satisfy the aggressor,” added the head of Ukrainian diplomacy on Platform X.
Sybiha pointed out that the Nazi Third Reich bears full responsibility for a war catastrophe. “However, there were also those who enabled this evil to strengthen – avoiding difficult decisions, choosing weakness instead of strength and wishful thinking instead of realistic strategies,” he emphasized.
According to the Ukrainian minister, the best way to commemorate tens of millions of victims of World War II is to prevent those errors to repeat. “The unity of allies, pressure on the aggressor, Russia and the strengthening of Ukraine are crucial for the safety and lasting peace throughout Europe,” said Sybiha.
