As a result of the shooting in Kallhaell, two young men were killed, one of them was on conditional release from prison. The explosion of the car-car took place in the Oestberg district. According to the media, a fatal sacrifice is a teenager trying to put a bomb. A total of four people were injured in several other shootings.

MPs of opposition social democrats, Teresa Carvalho, called the center -right Minister of Justice Gunnar Stroemmer and police head Petra Lundh before the Parliamentary Committee of Justice. The politician accused the authorities of the lack of progress of the fight against gangs. “The government must accelerate the actions he promised since 2022, when he took over power,” Carvalho emphasized at a specially convened press conference.

In Stroemmer's opinion, the current situation is the result of neglect of social democrats who did not take the necessary action in 2014-2022. – New resources, tools and methods of police work begin to bring results. So far, the number of shootings has fallen by half, but before we are satisfied, we still have a lot of work – emphasized Stroemmer.

106 shootings took place throughout Sweden this year – this is the least in six years. 34 people died from Kul, and 29 were injured. A positive trend, however, is less visible in Stockholm, where in 2023 a conflict erupted around the boss of a drug gang with the nickname Kurdish Lis. From January to the end of July this year, 47 shootings were recorded in the Swedish capital. Stroemmer's government changed the head of the police, tightened the law and granted new police rights, including the possibility of requiring criminal property.
