Most of the 900 employed people lost their jobs, and the reason turned out to be the decision of another Swedish company – Scania. Truck manufacturer – the only customer of Northvolt – due to lower costs, decided to buy a battery from the Chinese giant of the CATL industry.

After batteries to China and to Wrocław

Now again towards the Chinese (CATL) and the battery -produced batteries produced near Wrocław (LG Energy Solutions) will have to pay back the German Porsche, which has abandoned the production of its own links, although Cellforce was taken over by Cellorce. However, it will not be completely liquidated, and the planned battery factory will turn only into a research and development center. Thus, two -thirds of the crew of less than 300 people are to lose their work.

Therefore, the idea of ​​producing your own batteries will go to the basket, although the German premium car manufacturer did not even launch production lines. What's more, Porsche has earned EUR 60 million in a state subsidy for this purpose.

These are not the only Porsche problems. Already in July, President Oliver Blume warned employees that due to the need to cut costs, in the following months the company would start negotiations with trade unionists, which will apply to layoffs. Until 2029, every tenth of 37 thousand is to lose his job. employees. However, these exemptions will enter the trend observed throughout the Volkswagen group.

The Union resigns, producers do not

It is also not the only blow to electromobility which, although it constantly increases the share in the market of new cars, it does not bring the expected profits. We would like to remind you that although EU decision makers have still not resigned from introducing a ban on registration of combustion cars in 2035, subsequent manufacturers suspend the previously announced departure from the production of gasoline cars.

Opel joined this group due to poor sales results. Earlier, Mercedes-Benz, Ford and the aforementioned Audi and the aforementioned Audi, and the Volvo authorities also began to approach their plans to departing from the internal combustion cars on the European market.
