US-Iran talks. JD Vance, Witkoff and Kushner will go to Pakistan

The White House announced that the United States would hold direct talks with Iran, even as ongoing fighting in the Middle East, punctuated by Israeli attacks on Lebanon, threatened to disrupt a fragile ceasefire in the six-week conflict.
Karoline Leavitt said that JD Vance will lead a US delegation to Islamabad that will also include Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and the first round of talks will take place on Saturday morning local time.
However, sporadic fighting continued throughout the region, including Iranian attacks on Persian Gulf states, and the Strait of Hormuz remained largely blocked.
