In February, Ukrainian defense forces recaptured more territory than Russia captured – Syrsky

According to Syrsky, the Ukrainian military endured a difficult “battle of the winter” and inflicted huge losses on the Russian invaders throughout the winter months. In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 322 tanks, 55 air defense systems, 65,269 operational-tactical drones, five aircraft and one helicopter, as well as one ship and one submarine each.

“The total losses of the Russian invaders over the three winter months amount to about 92,850 military personnel killed and wounded, or 1,031 people per day,” the commander-in-chief informed.

He emphasized that during this period, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated more enemy soldiers than Russia was able to recruit into its ranks.

Syrsky also said that active operations continue in the Aleksandrovsky and Gulyai-Polye directions, where Ukrainian troops are conducting effective operations. In Kupyansk, control is being strengthened and the number of enemy saboteurs is being reduced, and in the area of the Pokrovsko-Mirnograd agglomeration, the enemy is under control.

“For the first time since the Kursk offensive operation, the Ukrainian defense forces have regained control over more territory than the enemy was able to capture,” Syrsky added.
