The German arms company Rheinmetall announced on Tuesday that it intends to produce gunpowder in Bulgaria and 155 mm artillery shells. The company has signed two Joint Venture agreements that amounted to over 1 billion euros.

“We are happy with the trust that Bulgaria gave us and we will be a reliable and efficient partner for this country,” said the management of a German company in a special announcement. It was emphasized that closer details of the contract would be presented after its official signing. According to Reuters, this will happen “in the next three weeks”.

On Monday, the leader of the Gerb Bojko Borisow Conservative Party in Bulgaria, the leader of the Rheinmetall, informed. In the Facebook post he reported that talks about the investment of the German concern began in March this year.

Reuters reminded that Rheinmetall is one of the largest reinforcing sector companies in Europe, whose significance increased significantly after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Currently, in addition to its investments in several European countries, the German concern has also strengthened cooperation with other arms companies, including Italian Leonardo and the American Lockheed Martin.
