How many industries and desertion are registered in Ukraine? The office of the Prosecutor General voiced


Given the data of the “Unified Report on Criminal Offenses”, the number of OSC in Ukraine is growing every year: under Art. 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in 2022 registered 6988 industries, in 2023 – 17,658, in 2024 – 67 840.

For seven months of 2025, 110 511 industries have already been registered under this article. Thus, from the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, the amount of cases open to the OSC is almost 202,650. More than 15 thousand people received suspicions.

In addition, from 2022 to July 2025, 50,058 criminal proceedings under Art. 408 of the Criminal Code (desertion). 1248 people received suspicions.

Context

On November 28, 2024, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on a voluntary return to the service of those who first arbitrarily left the military unit or deserted. In order to avoid criminal punishment for the venues, the military who took such a step had to return to the service until January 1, 2025. Then the parliament several times extended the deadline when the military could return to the service: first until March 1, then until August 30.

Director of the DBR Alexei Sukhachev told Interfax-Ukraine that from November 29, 2024 to August 2025, more than 29 thousand military returned to the service from Op.

At the same time, according to BBC News Ukraine estimates, the number of military people who go to the OVC, at least twice as much as returning. Having analyzed the data of the prosecutor's office, the Air Force came to the conclusion that, for example, from December 2024 to March 2025, more than 45 thousand military unit was arbitrarily left, while, according to DBR information, only 21 thousand.
