Ukrainian media sharply about the announcements of Karol Nawrocki. “Kyiv will react”

“Stop Banderism”. The president announces a legislative initiative
President Karol Nawrocki announced on Monday a legislative initiative, which in the Penal Code will balance the “Banderian symbol” with Nazi and communist symbols. – We should include a clear slogan in the bill: Stop Bandera – said the president.
Nawrocki said on a press briefing that the presidential project had a “basic component for Poles”.
-To eliminate Russian propaganda and set Polish-Ukrainian relations on real partnership and mutual respect, mutual sensitivity, I recognize that we should include in the draft law the explicit slogan “Stop Banderism” and in the penal code to equalize the Banderian symbol with symbols that correspond to the German national socialism Nazism and Soviet communism and corrections to the Act on the Institute of National Remembrance-a Commission for Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation in relation to the CNS Crime-said the president.
He added that these solutions are in the interest of the Polish national community and good relations with Ukraine, which should be built on the foundation of justice, truth and against Russian propaganda.
Extending the process of granting citizenship
Nawrocki announced that the presidential project assumes that the process of granting citizenship will be extended from three to 10 years and increases penalties for illegal crossing of the border to 5 years imprisonment.
The former head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance referred to the statement of President Nawrocki, and today the deputy to the Supreme Council (Parliament) Wołodymyr Wiatrowycz. He estimated that he saw in him a similarity to the narrative of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
“Banderian ideology is three key theses: you will gain a Ukrainian state or you will die in the fight for them; freedom to nations, freedom to man; leaning on your own. Nawrocki notes in this similarity to Nazism. And in his vision I see similarity to the vision of Putin, which destroying everything that Ukrainian, calls Denasification.”
Wiatrowycz was the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance in 2014-2019, and is currently the deputy of the Supreme Council of Ukraine on behalf of the Opposition Party of the European Solidarity of the former President Petr Poroshenko.
