Cristian Chivu (44 years old) gave a large interview in the Italian press before Serie A with Inter. The Romanian technician agreed with his rival from AC Milan, Massimiliano Allegri (58 years old), and believes that Napoli is the main candidate for the title.
Chivu will debut on Inter series in the series of Monday, August 25, on his own ground, against Turin. The match starts at 9:45 pm and can be watched on gsp.ro.
Cristi Chivu, before the onset of Serie A at Inter: “I was just waiting to start the champion”
“We worked well, we had a brief, but intense training. The players showed availability and they were completely involved. We are a development project and we always want to progress, both individually and as a team,” Cristi Chivu started the speech, according to allcotoweb.com.
Later, the Romanian technician spoke about the club transfer policy: “I have always watched the market carefully and had a few names in the viewfinder, but some clubs that have the rights of the players chose not to sell them. This is happening to us, it is part of reality. We remained consistent with the club's policy, choosing young, valuable players, who are ready to evolve for Inter.
We have a consistent approach to the club strategy and I am satisfied with the lot we have. We follow a clear direction, focused on young players who value the team.
We know that patience is needed with young players, but in the current context, their integration is easier. The club also plays an important role and has to work to help them develop.
I want quality, not quantity. We have not been able to bring certain valuable players, but not from our fault. Those I transferred can pick up the team level”.
Asked if Inter is the main candidate for the title this season, Chivu replied promptly: “I agree with Allegri when he says that the team that won the championship last year starts as a favorite now. Especially if we look and how much he has invested in transfers.”
Chivu was part of the Inter Lot that conquered “Tripla” in 2010, under the command of Jose Mourinho, and hopes to bring the mentality of the “nerazzurrs” to the current lot: “It takes character and spirit, lucidity in understanding the important moments of the season and to manage everything, both the positive aspects and the difficulties.
If we look, for example, at Inter 2010, it was that match in Kiev, where we were almost eliminated. You need to know how to handle such moments along the season and get to the end, always trying to understand exactly where you are”.
I am proud to be Inter coach. I am calm and I learned that when you invest time in development, things become simple. I was just waiting for the championship to start. We all prefer to play. We are glad that we started and we are calm and motivated. On the field we will see exactly where we are.
