On the 86th anniversary of the Ribbentrop-Mołotow pact, President Karol Nawrocki wrote that the whole world should draw conclusions from the events of 1939 and “not allowing the sick dreams of the Empire to consume further human existence.” Meanwhile – as he assessed – “Imperial Resentments” are nourishing in Russia.


“In 1939, Stalin, together with Hitler, made an act that opened the way to World War II and consumed the lives of millions of people around the world. Poland became the first victim of German and then Soviet aggression,” wrote on the portal X president on the 86th anniversary of the Ribbentrop -Molotov pact.
As he pointed out, “Germans have not paid the balance of harm to this day,” and in Russia “nourishes imperial resentments.” “From that fact, today's world should draw conclusions and not let the sick dreams of the Empire consume more human existence,” wrote President Nawrocki.
On August 23, 1939, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Germany and the USSR signed a non-aggression pact, whose most important element was a secret four-point protocol dividing the zones of influence in Central and Eastern Europe.

The point directly concerning Poland was as follows: “In the case of territorial and political transformations in the Polish states belonging to the Polish state, the border of the interest zones of Germany and the USSR will take place approximately on the line of the rivers Narew, Wisła and San. In any case, both governments will decide this issue in the way of a friendly agreement. ” (PAP)
