Jack Alexy (22 years old), the multiple Olympic and world medalist, has become the 6th swimmer in history who swims 100 meters in under 47 seconds. The American has achieved this performance at the United States National Championships.
In the qualifications of the US national championships, Jack Alexy has given an excellent time at 100 meters, exceeding his record set a year ago. Specifically the American swam the two lengths of the basin in 46.99 seconds after, in 2024, he had taken 47.08 seconds.

Due to this performance, Alexy became the 6th swimmer in history that descends under 47 seconds in a 100-meter race. The other 5 are Pan Zhanle (China, 46.40 seconds), David Popovici (Romania, 46.86 seconds), Cesar Cielo (Brazil, 46.91 seconds), Alain Bernard (France, 46.94 seconds) and Caleb Dressel (USA, 46.96 seconds).
The All-Time record was set by Pan Zhanle at the 2024 Olympics, within the final won at 100 meters. The Chinese took an incredible race, dominated its opponents and lowered the world record to 46.40 seconds.
David Popovici's time of 46.86 seconds was removed in 2022, at the European Championships in Rome, from where the Romanian returned with two gold medals.

Jack Alexy's record
Jack Alexy was born on January 19, 2003, in Morristown, New Jersey. Currently, he is studying at the University of California, gathering 13 medals in the NCAA, the competition for universities.
Besides, Alexy has 10 medals at the World Championships (5 in the short basin and 5 in the long basin). In 2024, at the Paris Olympic Games, he won a gold and a silver medal with the American team.
On Tuesday, June 3, Alexy managed for the first time to descend under 47 seconds percent of meters and for the 13th time to descend under 48 seconds.
