Three European leaders, invited to Chisinau for Independence Day. Nicușor Dan will arrive on the Romanian Language Day, celebrated on August 31

On August 27, 2025, Chisinau will host a few top European leaders: France's President Emmanuel Macron, Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, and Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The event will take place on Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, at the invitation of President Maia Sandu.

The three officials, together with Maia Sandu, will hold press statements at the presidency headquarters and will then address the citizens in the concert dedicated to Independence Day, organized in the Great National Assembly Square.
Journalists are invited to the presidency headquarters on August 27, between 3:00 pm and 15:30, for the ceremony, which will start at 4:00 pm. The press statements will take place at 4:50 pm, and the access will be made by entering Maria Cebotari Street, based on the credentials, announces the presidency of the Republic of Moldova.
Also, on August 31, 2025, on the Day of the Romanian Language, the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, will come to Chisinau. The full program of events on August 31 will be announced later.
Nicușor Dan and Maia Sandu met this month, when the President of Romania spent a weekend with family in the Republic of Moldova, at the invitation of Maia Sandu. Then, the two leaders participated together in several events.
