The representatives of several political formations requested the BEJ Olt to replace the president and the deputy of a polling station in an Oltean commune. The president would have allowed the deputy mayor to accompany more voters in the voting cabin.
The Olt County Electoral Bureau is to be pronounced on the request of the representatives of several political formations that seized that in a voting section of Optași commune the deputy mayor of the locality accompanied several citizens in the voting booth.
The mayor motivated that the respective people need help, because they would have vision problems, and these people asked him to offer them this aid, the president of the polling station agreed.

The representatives of several political formations notified the County Electoral Bureau, requesting the replacement of the president who allowed the deputy mayor to accompany the voters in the voting booth. Video images in which the deputy mayor is surprised by entering several times in the cabin, together with the voters, they were made public, a few hours ago, by the representatives of the Union Save Romania (USR), the first to signal the alleged violation of the law.

“During this day, the Olt County Police Inspectorate was notified about the fact that, at a polling station in Optași Măgura commune, a person would have entered the voting booth together with other voters.
Following the checks carried out by the police, it was established that several persons would have requested and received the agreement of the polling station president to be accompanied in the polling staff, as they had visual impairments and needed support for the right to vote. According to the legal provisions, persons with disabilities have the right to be assisted in the voting cabin by another person, with the agreement of the polling station president.
Police officers continue to monitor the electoral process to ensure compliance with the legal provisions and maintain a climate of public order and safety ”, They transmitted, shortly after noon, the Oltenian police.
