Ombudsman for the defense forces of Israel, General Efi Defin, announced on Wednesday that the army has already started preliminary operations constituting the first phase of the planned attack on the city of Gaza – the main urban center of the Gaza Zone. Soldiers are already controlling the outskirts of the city – Defin told journalists.

At the beginning of August, the Israeli government announced a new campaign against Hamas and gaining gauze. Defense Minister Israel Kac approved the operation plan from Tuesday to Wednesday.
According to media reports, the campaign conducted in several phases is to take several months and start with the resettlement of about a million civilians living in gauze, i.e. nearly half of all residents of this territory.
For several days, it has already been informed about increased fights in the suburbs of Gaza.
Defin said on Wednesday afternoon that the army “does not wait” and had already started preliminary operations in gas preceding the offensive itself, which aims to take the city. “Soldiers are already controlling the Gaza Strip,” added the military.
Army spokesman assured that Hamas is currently “a thinned and weakened guerrilla force”. On Wednesday before noon, there was a rare in recent months of a direct hit of Hamas fighters on Israeli soldiers. At least 18 Hamasists were attacked by a post around the city of Chan Junus in the south of the Gaza Strip. The soldiers replied the assault. According to the army, at least ten Hamas fighters were killed, and three Israelis were injured.
